| The wake, kilio in the Kibudu language, when a vigil is held over the dead person for three or four days and nights, the scenes and cries of grief are unnerving, reaching their most dramatic effect at night. The dead person is buried in a ditch near the hut, and then the hut is destroyed. This kilio is for a young woman who died so that her son might be born. Many of these deaths could be avoided if there were adequate health care. | |
