Little by little, cement and brick is replacing the
traditional adobe and thatch. The bricks and tiles are usually reclaimed from old
buildings, now in ruins, built during the period of Belgian colonization. |

The wood is
obtained locally and in the same locale the beams are cut as seen in the photo. A stone,
pulverized, becomes gravel that will be mixed with the cement. |
